Ellen Phan. Currently based in Los Angeles, Phan has been working on computer music, integrating her expertise as a hypnotherapy practitioner. She explores themes such as grief and pleasure, synthesizing sounds using materials derived from various therapy-specific methodologies. While retaining the auditory distortion and hallucinatory patterns from her earlier work, “Inner Authority” aims to embrace more upfront, playful rhythms and dynamics. It maintains minimalistic, stripped-down arrangements, all while whispering its hidden timbre with delicacy.
